Ride A Pet Beginner Guide

Start Ride A Pet fast: buy a radar, find and return an egg, hatch a pet, earn cash, upgrade Hatch Luck, and avoid common early mistakes.

Quick start

Start with one complete egg-to-ranch run:

  1. Mount your current pet.
  2. Buy an Advanced Radar from the gear shop.
  3. Activate it and follow the direction and distance marker to an egg.
  4. Carry the egg back to your ranch before its break timer ends.
  5. Put it in an empty nest, dismount if prompted, and hatch.
  6. Place useful pets on your ranch, collect their cash, and upgrade Hatch Luck or your radar.

Mount even a starter pet. Player guides show the on-screen prompt “Ride Pet To Go Faster,” and riding shortens both halves of the trip: getting to the egg and returning before it breaks.

Follow the green shop markers toward the central stalls. Look for the labels Gears, Track, Sell, and Food rather than trying to memorize a route from one camera angle.

Step 2: buy and use a radar

Buy the Advanced Radar at Rick’s Shop. The walkthrough lists it at $50; check the shop’s displayed price before buying.

Activate the radar after purchase. It selects an egg target and shows distance feedback. A target hundreds of metres away is normal; follow the live direction rather than wandering between biomes.

If it is out of stock: watch for the gear restock notice before trying again.

Step 3: pick up the egg and turn home

Interact with the egg when you reach it. A break countdown begins once you carry it, so stop exploring and return to your ranch. The egg basket has a limit; if the UI says it is full, unload before starting another run.

Use landmarks on the outbound route so you can reverse it quickly. For Blackhole and Cherub spawns, the egg locations guide covers the six reported search zones.

Step 4: place the egg in a nest

Your ranch is labelled with your username. Carry the egg to an empty nest and use the “Place Egg In Nest” prompt shown in the current walkthrough. Dismount if the game asks; the mount can block the hatch interaction.

Hatch the egg to reveal your new pet, then choose whether to ride it or place it on the ranch.

Step 5: place pets and collect cash

Put useful pets on ranch slots. The walkthrough shows individual placement and a Place Best option. Touch or interact with placed pets to collect the cash they have generated.

Spend early cash on the loop that improves future runs:

  • Hatch Luck before opening a batch of eggs.
  • A better radar when it meaningfully improves the egg tier or search.
  • Food when levelling a pet gives a better return than replacing it.

The walkthrough shows Grass costing $10 and adding pet XP.

Step 6: compare pets by the job

Use the pet card instead of appearance alone:

  • Speed for long searches and timed returns.
  • Jump for cliffs, branches, and elevated eggs.
  • Income for ranch cash.
  • Mutation as a modifier that can change the useful order.

Early mistakes to avoid

  1. Running on foot: even the starter mount saves time.
  2. Continuing to explore while carrying: the egg timer makes the return the priority.
  3. Ignoring basket capacity: a full basket blocks another pickup.
  4. Judging only by rarity: jump, speed, income, and mutations serve different goals.
  5. Staying mounted at the nest: dismount when prompted so you can hatch the egg.

Best beginner tips

  • Complete short egg runs before chasing rare spawns. A successful return, hatch, and ranch placement improves the next trip; a broken egg produces no upgrade.
  • Buy for the current bottleneck. Improve the radar when finding useful eggs is the problem, Hatch Luck before opening eggs, and food when levelling a strong pet is cheaper than replacing it.
  • Separate riding from earning. Use speed and jump for the mounted pet, then place high-income pets on the ranch.
  • Keep future Rebirth pets. Check the seven Rebirth requirements before selling a duplicate that looks weaker.
  • Use live directions over a memorized route. Landmarks help with the return trip, but the radar should decide the outbound direction.

What to do after your first few eggs

Once the basic loop feels reliable, compare pets by purpose in the pet tier list, learn how weather mutations change speed and income, and keep the named pet required for your next Rebirth. Progress comes from removing the slowest part of the loop: finding an egg, returning it safely, earning enough cash, or obtaining the required pet. Spend on that constraint instead of spreading cash across every upgrade.

Your first efficient upgrade cycle

Complete one radar-to-hatch run, place the useful result, collect its income, and reinvest in Hatch Luck or a better radar. Repeat short, successful trips instead of stretching for a rare egg you cannot return in time.
