There is no single “best” pet for every job. A cash pet can be worse for a timed egg return; a high-jump pet can open a route even when its raw speed is lower.
How Ride A Pet pet stats work
The current player ranking reports five values on a pet card:
- Hatch chance: how uncommon the pet is.
- Base speed: map-travel performance before mutations.
- Base jump: vertical reach for cliffs, branches, and obstacle routes.
- Base income: the earnings bonus while the pet works on your ranch.
- Base weight: reported as 10 kg across the roster in that source, so it does not separate the listed pets.
Rarity is not enough. Read the values that match your current task, and keep mutation bonuses separate from base performance.

Kitsune vs Dragon
Choose Kitsune when your loop is mostly riding: following radar directions, reaching high ground, and returning an egg before its timer expires. The current ranking calls it the strongest overall progression pet.
Choose Dragon when your loop is mostly economic: placing pets on the ranch and collecting cash for upgrades. The current ranking calls Dragon the income leader.
Switching by task is more useful than forcing one universal S-tier verdict. If a mutation changes a pet’s speed, compare the resulting card or route time rather than the unmodified name.
Is Phoenix the best for rare eggs?
Both rare-egg location guides recommend Phoenix because it combines flight and speed for elevated Blackhole and Cherub routes. That makes Phoenix a useful route recommendation, not a settled overall ranking.
Published Phoenix numbers conflict badly: one community source gives a 350–450 MPH range, while another uses a 1M base-speed figure with no compatible unit. Hatch-chance claims also disagree. Because the units and versions are not aligned, this guide does not publish either number as fact.
Use Phoenix if it is your fastest flyer in the current game. Use Kitsune or another mount if the actual card and route test are better for the location you are checking.
A two-minute in-game comparison
- Open both pet cards and record speed, jump, income, and mutation labels.
- Pick one goal: travel, vertical reach, or ranch income.
- For travel, run the same route twice with each pet.
- For income, observe equal time windows with no other upgrades or rewards.
- Keep the pet that wins that specific test; do not compare mutated and base pets as if the modifier did not exist.
